About GLP3-R

GLP3-R is the research designation for GLP3-R, a triple-receptor agonist that simultaneously targets GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide), GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1), and glucagon receptors. This tripartite mechanism distinguishes it from earlier dual-receptor compounds and positions it as one of the most comprehensive metabolic research tools available.

The compound operates across three complementary pathways: GLP-1 receptor activation slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite signaling; GIP receptor activation enhances insulin secretion and may contribute to adipose tissue remodeling; glucagon receptor activation promotes hepatic glucose output and energy expenditure. Research into the combined effects of these three mechanisms is ongoing and represents a significant area of interest in metabolic science.

🧪 Reconstitution
Reconstitute with Bacteriostatic Water. Standard protocol: 1 mL BAC Water per 10mg vial (10 mg/mL). For the 60mg vial, use 3 mL BAC Water (20 mg/mL) — a sterile transfer vial may be needed. Inject BAC Water slowly down the vial wall. Swirl gently. Do not shake. Refrigerate at 2–8°C after reconstitution. Visit our full Reconstitution Guide and Dosing Calculator for detailed instructions. For a complete reference on storage temperatures, light sensitivity, and shelf life across compound types, see our Peptide Storage 101 guide.

Research Applications

GLP3-R is used in metabolic research investigating multi-receptor incretin pathway modulation. Research applications include studies of appetite regulation, energy homeostasis, insulin sensitivity, glucagon pathway interactions, and body composition under conditions of triple-receptor agonism. The compound is of particular interest in research comparing dual vs. triple receptor agonist mechanisms.

Common Questions

What is GLP3-R?
GLP3-R is JP Labs's research name for a triple GIP/GLP-1/glucagon receptor agonist developed for metabolic research — the same receptor-target class studied under compounds like retatrutide. It is distinct from GLP-1 agonists (semaglutide) and dual GIP/GLP-1 agonists (GLP2-T) by virtue of its additional glucagon receptor activity.
What sizes is GLP3-R available in?
JP Labs carries GLP3-R in 10mg, 20mg, 30mg, and 60mg vials. The 20mg size is the most common starting point for research protocols.
How do I reconstitute GLP3-R?
Use Bacteriostatic Water. For 10mg: add 1 mL BAC Water (10 mg/mL). For 20mg: add 2 mL (10 mg/mL). For 30mg: add 3 mL (10 mg/mL). For 60mg: add 3 mL (20 mg/mL) — a sterile transfer vial is recommended. Refrigerate after reconstitution. Stable 28–42 days at 2–8°C.
Is GLP3-R the same as semaglutide or GLP2-T?
No. Semaglutide is a GLP-1 monoagonist. GLP2-T is a dual GIP/GLP-1 agonist. GLP3-R adds glucagon receptor agonism as a third mechanism, making it a triple agonist — a distinct compound with a different receptor profile.
Is GLP3-R the same as retatrutide?
GLP3-R is not sold or marketed as retatrutide. It is a research compound in the same mechanistic class — a GIP/GLP-1/glucagon triple receptor agonist — that researchers use to study the same three-receptor pathway retatrutide targets. Retatrutide itself is an investigational pharmaceutical still in clinical trials and is not available through JP Labs.
What is the difference between GLP3-R and GLP2-T?
GLP2-T targets GIP and GLP-1 receptors. GLP3-R targets GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors. The additional glucagon component is believed to increase energy expenditure, which differentiates the two mechanistically.
