About DSIP

DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a nonapeptide with the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu and a molecular weight of roughly 849 Da. It was first isolated in 1974 by Schoenenberger and Monnier from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during induced slow-wave (delta) brain activity — the observation that gave the peptide its name.
